Dick Maisenbacher: To find a home school teacher you need only to look in the mirror. Parents are the ones who usually take on the task to home school their children. If you "hire" a teacher what is the point of home school? You may as well send them to public or private school.
Jackson Esmiol: You can access high school level subjects online for free at a number of websites.http://www.hippocampus.orghttp://www.khanacademy.orghttp://www.academicearth.orghttp://www.youtube.com/eduThere are many more that offer instruction for a fee.Go here http://homeschooling.gomilpitas.com/and look through the site. You will find a wealth of information there, including great curriculum resources....Show more
Cassidy Pangrazio: Start with the school where your daughter would attend. Find your state's education agency. Maybe they have a link.
Lourie Mcroberts: Well, your daughter is old enough to not need a home school teacher. What I use is Christian Liberty Acade! my School System (CLASS). There, they offer online help and phone help with any problems your daughter has with her school work. There are also home schools that are strictly online or on videos. Class offers a variety of choices, plus there is a plan where they actually do the grading and then keep the records like a real school, because it is a real school and accredited. So, my kids will actually have transcripts when they graduate, but mine are still young, so you might want to look into it more. CLASS has a curriculum you can use and even help design. They offer choices too. I also order extra books from homeschooling books. Google that and you can order a booklet and it has tons of choices to build you own curriculum or use another in there. I have done both. You will have to be there for your kid, but if I were you I would send my kid to one of those tutor specialists on TV for help on anything your kid might need expounding on or just explanations for, but! for the most part, your kid should be able to do it themselve! s with you setting out their goals for the day. If they need that, I had 2 friends who graduated from high school and were in charge of their education at that level. You might just have to figure out what lessons to do day to day and check, but CLASS will send you the answer keys and all the tools you will need to keep track and teach you what you need to do. I am currently homeschooling 2 kids and we spend about 2-3 hours a day in school so don't think your child will be schooling for 8 hours a day, they will not. Think about that when you are finding books for her school and let her pick some to read or one with activities and get her in music or art or something. Just a suggestion. Good luck!...Show more
Timmy Bustard: You can't give that responsibility to someone else unless your church has a homeschooling programme or there's a group of parents in your hometown who are homeschooling and each parent takes a class of children. The best best would be a system! of self learning at home, which is what its supposed to be. ABEKA was/is a great christian programme. All the books are quality books and teach the subjects so the child and parent can work together to make sure the child has the knowledge presented. Another program is ROD AND STAFF. It presents the knowledge in lifepacs, chapters that the child masters before moving on. The work is like we were given at school, open book format, where the child reads and learns and then is tested with the book open to them to find the answers. if you are in NZ there are also programms here that meet your child's need. You need to be aware that schools are already providing your child a schooling supervisor in the teacher who is being paid. Getting a teacher for your daughter at home will require you to furnish the books, the programme for the lessons in all the subjects, and the time and place to do it. You are the perfect person to do all those things and the curriculum will be sent wit! h the books you have bought. The record of the child's achievement will! have to be kept by you and then she will likely have to take the summary test to see if she mastered her courses. Again that will cost money. You can check out AtoZ online. I don't know if there's a virtual homeschool in NZ or USA either. Sorry....Show more
Jeremy Donohue: Please, do not start with the school that she would have attended. Since having your daughter attend their school would bring money in, they'd be the last people to ask. There's just a little conflict of interest in asking them questions about homeschooling. Many public schools are misinformed anyway.Go to:http://www.hslda.org/laws/default.aspFind out what the homeschool law is in your state.Your state may have a public school at home program that you can enroll in. These programs are not homeschooling and they may or may not be the best option for your family.http://www.k12.com/http://www.connectionsacademy.com/home.aspxAnother option might be to use a tutor. This can be and expensive option,! though.Hope that helps. Good luck!Seana...Show more
Nikita Schroepfer: I consider i_come_from...that would routinely be your self or his dad. in case you have already entered homeschooling (or have strongly planned on doing so) with out having this found out, that's recommended to re-examine...it relatively is not as confusing as some say, in spite of the undeniable fact that it relatively is not hands-off for the dad and mom, the two - particularly in OH and the encompassing states. The regulations tend to be a splash stricter in that element of the rustic, and to call for greater of homeschoolers and their dad and mom. there may well be a close-by co op that he can get entangled in, i'm unsure, however the final public of the oversight will nevertheless be as much as you and his dad....Show more
