Can a land line number be the same as a cell phone number in a different area?

Providencia Serpe: It doesn't matter where the cell phone is physically, it's charged by the terminating number. In addition, it will count for cell minutes and roaming, if that still exists. Carl

Joeann Hoyt: yes cellphone and landlines can be the same number. The only thing that will be different is the area code. Also keep in mind that people calling can hack their phone to say a totally different name or location. You may want to contact your provider and ask them what and who this number may belong too. I wouldn't trust those phone look-up sites as most of them do not provide the correct information. It could also be a telemarketer they keep their numbers confidential so that they cant be found online. If this number from "florida" keeps calling, contact your provider and see if they can block the number. You may want to answer if it calls again to make sure its someone you do not know, who knows you never know lol. Also one more thing. If the number is saved i! n your recent calls take the area code and look it up online. Pretty much every site including Wikipedia will tell you where the area code is from. That way you will be able to prove whether or not it's from Florida. Keep in mind Florida does have alot of area codes. Hope i helped :)...Show more
