Why can't my co workers understand I could care less about them in general I'm there to make a paycheck?

Malcom Fenoff: Being a senior myself with some medical problems, I can tell you what NOT to get. Stay away from low slung cars (My Mazda RX-7 is a good example) Very difficult to enter and exit unless you are nimble. (It's a long way down to the seat and even further to pull yourself back up. Also the seating position (slightly reclining in a sports car) requires a young and flexible neck for the swiveling of a head needed to keep watch around you. Years ago, I had a Lotus Europa. You sat in a seat that reclined at an almost 45 degree angle because the roof line was so low. I would need assistance to get in and especially out of that car today.A taller car with good doors, but in a size that's easy to drive is best. (ever wonder why cars like the Mercedes 300/320 series are so popular in retirement communities in FL?) I drive an old 1986 Mercedes 300 E. Easy to get in and out of, great visibility all around, rides smooth, handles great and has every option known to man as! standard equipment. It even gives decent mileage for its power. (In town, an under powered 4 cylinder econobox that claims great highway mileage doesn't do much better than a powerful 6 cylinder when it has to fight to get back to speed in a heavily street lighted area.) The 300 series diesels are even better, but they cost much more on the used car market. My 300 E is the 4 door, which makes using the decent sized back seat easy and has a huge flat and square trunk for shopping, or carrying family and their luggage around when they come to visit.Small vans and SUVs are good for entering and exiting, but most do not have very good driver seat all around visibility. Forward is always good, but the size and shape of the windows as well as the height above the ground make seeing low vehicles to the sides and behind more difficult. My second car is a mid sized pick up truck. You can see all around better from it and still have cargo capacity when needed. Doors are wide and se! ats are easy to get in and out of. (stock height. No lift kit,! or over sized tires!)I can still ride Motorcycles, as the riding position is actually better than in any car, but with age go vision and reflex capabilities and a motorcycle is a dangerous vehicle even when you are at full capacity. Not for the riding skills, but for defending against the moronic car drivers! I will not ride in heavy traffic, or on interstates at high speeds anymore out of self defense and because I realize that I'm not as quick as I was when younger. (Something that many seniors refuse to acknowledge and get into accident situations as a result!)...Show more

Luke Gacusan: I got a phone call like that at work once. Some guy wanted me to call security to chase a coyote in the neighborhood (I work in a gaurd house in a gated community) up into the mountains using only a flash light because he was afraid of guns.

Sharie Sommerville: I have emailed you with an email address to forward it to, customer service does nothing, all you get is a computer ! generated response - no human beings work there -- but the adress I sent to you has REAL people and they DO help - everytime !!Another one as someone mentioned is answers-alert@cc.yahoo-inc.com They WILL respond and ban the person responsible - no fooling around with them either, they act immediately when people are threatened...Show more

Terrell Lawman: Why not ask your aunt what she wants? Does she want a manual or an automatic? Does she need four wheel drive? What will she use the car for? if she is just going to use it around town for shopping and visiting any of the little fart boxes would do, but if she is going to drive longer distances, she might want something with more ooomph. Is she tall or short? Tall people don't fit comfortably into all cars. She also wants reliability. I'd recommend a Mazda. Get a Mazda 2 for town driving or a Mazda 3 for city and country driving. They are great cars, easy to drive and the 3 has all the ooomph you would need....Show m! ore

Cliff Jacoby: ...and admit that I know from personal experien! ce that the literal interpretation of the Bible is wrong and dinosaurs did exist? And that I was already past my prime when they became extinct?

Keneth Mailhot: I understand that trolls do pretty well. They live under bridges and only come out to extort money from those who wish to cross the bridge.

Idell Dufort: I don't think there is one particularly for seniors. But I would watch to see how easy it is to get in & out of the seat.

Elsie Resner: Dont know what you do or your age, but maybe you should look for a job that isolates you from others..medical transcriptionists make good money and work totally alone. get a career change. God made us to be socialable, so youre going to have a rough ride. had an aunt the same way and constantly irritated. not a happy life..Dont know what you do or your age, but maybe you should look for a job that isolates you from others..medical transcriptionists make good money and work totally alone. get a career change.! God made us to be socialable, so youre going to have a rough ride. had an aunt the same way and constantly irritated. not a happy life.....Show more

Norris Rosener: They cannot read your mind so they act the way they were taught to act which is with some degree of sociability. You either run with the wolves or not but do not expect people to cater to you. You can make yourself plain and tell them that you do not care to socialize because you are an unsociable person.

Shan Lanen: Block them. Forward email to Yahoo with full headers.

Kellie Waycott: yeh we all wonder that one....... yeh we all just wanna make our paycheck i think it has to do with sex drugs alcohol rocknroll and confusion and people being needy...... ask everyone one question...........who taught us ALL how to TALK? GOD did not make us to be sociable .... GOD drowned sociable people during noahs ark..... point a to point b and prioritys and attitudes....

Floy Fague: My god, pe! ople can be so petty and childish. I couldn't think of any reason at al! l why anyone would do something like this to you, mannon. But I doubt they're a contact of yours, so if you have your Q&A blocked, they can't get at your questions and answers. If you block them, that would be some more defense. And then you should definitely report them.I wouldn't even bother emailing the person. Chances are you've corresponded, before. They're not going to stop abusing you and this sort of behavior is just dumb.I hope this works out, mannon :)...Show more

Ollie Desalvo: I received an extremely rude, crude, threatening email from another YA user. I forwarded it to: Yahoo! Answers They got back to me almost immediately and the person who sent that email had their account deleted. Some people need to get a life. Keep this address handy because there are a few people in this category who need a wake-up call every so often....Show more

Irma Poiter: First, make your Contact and Question and Answer lists private. If the person is already a contact of y! ours, remove them immediately and block them. If not, you still need to go to their Profile, and block them from there. That way, they don't have access to your past questions and answers. Then forward the entire message to Y!A as an attachment. (I believe it's the Customer Service group who handles things like this.) Explain what's going on, and ask them to deal with the other user. You should get an email back from them in a day or so. Try not to be upset. . .this happens a lot around here....Show more

Troy Monsivais: You would be fooling yourself, if you think anyone would be interested in your time line. Most people think their time line is as important as you think your is.

Stanton Villao: Change jobs. Find something that does not require team work. It sounds like you would prefer to work alone. Some night or weekend work such as security guard or night clerk / auditor or something of a similar nature may work better for you. Some people like independent r! esponsibility that requires little or no contact with others. (ie Fores! t rangers)

Luis Farlow: The link that showed the map where states gradually developed was cool. Have you ever read WHY we divided our country, into states?I started my own time line at age 13. All the things I was going to do, for the rest of my life. Interesting, my wife did one at age 9.I was on her time line. Now I am age 60, and 80% of my time line is completed. That last 20% will be the best.PS Did you see the new Abe Lincoln movie? Amazing, just amazing....Show more

Donella Vasta: You're the one with the problem...so it's up to you to come up with the solution...not them.

Fritz Hawkey: Buick. I live in a retirement town and more elderly drive Buick than other makes. Personally, I drive a Ford Ranger pickup and my wife drives a Honda.

Roni Kurz: Part of it was saying this person was now going to report all my questions /answers.Is there a way I can deal with this? It's almost scary.Sorry to post in this category, but not sure where to turn.

Georgina Natal: When you are working , you should have your mind on your work and give it as close to 100% good quality work as you can! However i would not dismiss them as not needed, many a time , while on the job my friends have helped me. you may need them on the job one day and they will not be there for you as you have snubbed them so often! I however , think you are missing out on great opportunities. I have so many friends that I made while working. those friends mean so much too me and now that I have retired , if I did not have them i don't know what I would do. I would be so bored.Work is not all there is too life and one of these days , you will be sorry that you missed the opportunity to make friends ( where ever you may be). Friends are too be cherished!...Show more

Armanda Hertel: I'd make a timeline of all the close calls and near misses I've had, that would be interesting.

Danyell Rowback: Why do you keep asking us?Tell it to some one who cares!

Bob Pucella: i'M GOING TO LOOK INTO IT KATHY C

Providencia! Serpe: I would think a sort of oral history might be fun, it wouldn't seem so much like work to me that way.

Blaine Connett: I still prefer the flat windshield & lift of a Jeep! The year isn't important to me. I only drive twice a month for groceries. Otherwise, I walk to the corner store for little things like an onion.I wish someone would come out with a car under $10,000 with financing for those of us on disability. We are only allowed to have $2,000 in savings for a down payment. A monthly payment under $100 would be divine....Show more

Olin Hallin: A question one of our child contributors asked made me think of this. They wanted to know if we talked about Abraham Lincoln. lol And I thought I'd send them to a time line site.http://www.teacheroz.com/generalUS.htmThis site is for personal use and I thought it would be fun to do.http://www.ehow.com/how_4414097_create-personal-ti...

Johnny Sirko: Go to 'help, top right and write 'threatening e! mails' An address for you to forward it to should be somewhere in there

King Bringle: same problem, no thank you works well

Jonelle Eligio: Hi there. I am looking to buy a car for my great Aunt to drive. I was wondering if there any recommended for older people.

Branden Roddick: If you could care less, then why don't you?

Karey Dunken: When you ask again, the term "I could care less" is incorrect unless you could care less. Try 'could not or couldn't" it will make more sense..

Shane Getler: Before you rush out and but a car, ASK your GREAT AUNT if she WANTS A new car. Depending on her age she might not want to drive any more.

Jesse Pirieda: With the attitude you seem to have, I wonder why they would even want to socialize with you.

Ardelia Liptow: I've thought about making one, but there'd be no point. 1) because I can't remember that much anyways and I do the same thing most days 2) I'd end up starting it over again cause I had! n't gotten things in chronological order. Keep a diary instead! Does lo! ok fun though, more inventive than a diary.

Laveta Fathy: Every SC is an individual with needs needs and preferences so you cannot design a car especially for them. Personally I drive the same car now that I would have chosen when I was 20. The only difference is that I could not have afforded it when I was 20.

Tommy Durrenberger: I thought about it but it seems like a lot of time writing about my life, when I could be living it!!

Sabra Roers: Never have understood fully why the host of this site cannot block the ISP of the person[s] that create mayhem again and again. Yes, they often cancel their membership, but said persons return again and again with new nics, often co-opting the nics [in slightly different form] of long terms members...and those are usually the members with Best Answers, higher levels, popular, nice, wise, smart etc...daggum shame. One thing that has concerned me is I have noticed that one member here sometimes co-opts a version of a ni! c, then in parenthesis includes that person's REAL first name. The only way to do so would be to have that person's email address where the first name is usually included, if a Yahoo account, particulary. Yes, this can be done if the member/victim has allowed access to their email for Answers members; however, it happened to me and I have NO email access.Makes one wonder doesn't it? Is such a person somehow 'hooked up'...?No one knows my email addy except Yahoo.Things that make you go HMMMMM...Show more

Rosalba Lingner: "Ah, but my computations people sayReduced the year to a better reckoning? Nay!'Twas only striking from the calendarUnborn tomorrow, and dead yesterday!"

Giovanna Cramblit: Not quiet a time line but l wrote stories about my life experiences mainly things that changed my life so that my children know what made me what l am.

Alma Twomey: Someone keeps posting this question, the wording may change.Don't hint. State clearly you are there to do ! your job and will not socialize. Then, don't!

Frank Crummell: Sen! d an email with all of the information to Yahoo. Remove your email address so this does not happen again. Anyone who would threaten via email on Y/A is a sick individual who is in desperate need of psychological help. This type of person has fears and cannot confront another so they do it the easiest way for them. Taking out frustrations in this manner is most likely similar to the way he/she handles daily life by intimidating others and most likely physically and emotionally abusive....Show more

Freddy Shutler: You know what? I sort of feel sorry for you. You seem to have no empathy or caring -- how sad. People care about you and maybe you should try to care about them too. It's a wonderful feeling and you may find that you enjoy it. Give it a try, please.

Lourie Mcroberts: There are no cars that are "designed especially for Senior Citizens". All of us drive whatever make and model of car that we like and that we feel comfortable driving. My last 3 new ca! rs have all been small cars. I just happen to like the way a smaller car handles. I don't care for "big" cars or SUV's - for me, it's like driving a tank. I currently drive a Ford Focus, and I love it. The next car I buy will be about the same size.

Inge Mclaurine: There are no cars designed for senior citizens anymore than there are cars designed for teenagers or middle-agers. People buy what meets their needs.I recommend a Honda Civic. Plenty of trunk room. The seats give great back support. And if she is short - no problem - have you ever seen people in those cars where their heads are barely visible through the steering wheel? How they can see to drive is beyond me. Honda Civics are easy to get into and out of - a problem some people can have if they are arthritic. If that is the case you don't want a vehicle where she would need a step stool to get in and out. Gas mileage is important as well - most seniors can't afford to waste money on gas guzzlers. You! can get an excellent used Honda Civic. My car is a 1999 and it operat! es just as good now as the day I bought it.I highly recommend going to the library and reading up on Consumer Reports Used Car Guide - and any other guide out there. You don't want to get her into a car known to have problems. Wish my mother let us girls know that she planned on getting herself a Chevy Impala - that car has been in the shop more than its been out - we would have told her that according to Consumer Reports she shouldn't have gotten the car.If my nephew was looking for a car for me I sure would hope he'd ask me what type of car I wanted. Make sure that you get a USED Honda Civic. I just read that the two most popular cars stolen in the US last year was the Honda Accord (#1) and the Honda Civic (#2) which actually says a lot about how popular they are. Another car to consider for dependability is the Toyota Camry but that is on the list of the top ten cars which are stolen every year as well. Still, they are popular for a reason - they are dependable, re! tain their value longer and are easy to handle....Show more

Olen Penhallurick: Send a link to the email and a description of the problem you're having to: y_answrs_team@yahoo.com(answrs without an "e' is correct)If this person is threatening you with violence you can also report it to your local police. If you want more info try posting this in Yahoo Products>Yahoo Answers...Show more

Alane Antes: I think it sounds like a neat idea. I wish my ancestors had done a life time line for me and my children/grandchildren.

Jarrod Darnall: How old is your great aunt, and how much longer will she be driving?Generally people who are seniors have a car that's 10 years old or older, and some can't even keep up its maintenance and it just sits in the garage but they feel good about it being there for emergency situations as they think they can independently get in the car and drive to the hospital. Wherein the fact is they probably need one of those monitors that hang! around their neck for emergencies.Maybe someone in your family has an ! old car they can fix up for her (well maintained), or she can keep the car she has and you'd just get it fixed up for her (change all liquids in the car, put on new tires if they need it, put new belts on, make sure the windshield wipers work, buy her a pair of sunglasses (wraparounds) to wear, etc. Make sure she keeps up the tags and insurance and drivers license. Gas right now is inexpensive but may get expensive. All these things require money which she probably doesn't have. This is why one person never should buy something expensive like that for someone else. Their intentions are good but the accepter of the gift might get hurt in the wallet....Show more
