Is it fair to remodel a vacant apartment but not a rented one.?

I simply informed the tenant that rent on the renovated unit was going to be $100/month more than she was currently paying, and that she was welcome to move into the renovated unit, as long as she paid the higher rents. Kenneth Queener: Explain that in order to properly remodell the unit HAS to be vacent. Not only are you required to turn off water and power, but there is an excessive amount of dust and fumes.You are not required to remodel your property ever, vacent or not. He can not force you to alter your property in any way.

Sabra Roers: just because its rented doesn't mean it shouldn't get remodeled but only if it needs it like worn carpet from normal wear and age but not a complete remodel. I wou! ld suggest you get him out if he is not happy and you could be getting more rent from that unit. If he is that unhappy he needs to move on.

Marcelle Vanlith: Tell him that when you are finished he can move in with a new lease and will have to pay the new rent. If he is willing then it is a win win situation.
