Herma Ellebrecht: I wasn't too keen on marriage, but agreed to it, regretted it, and have managed not to repeat the experience. My ex and I were young and thought we were madly in love, but it faded quickly, before the marriage even took place. Some women and men want children, and want a stable environment, some are religious, and some want to please their parents who want married children and grandchildren.
Booker Warlick: Because, to them, marriage shows how committed their men are. To them, marriage is a confirmation that the men are theirs and only theirs. They need the security and warm feeling knowing that these men won't go for other women.
