Pei Heatherly: It's never too late to audition but it would've been better if one auditions at a younger age for a bigger chance of debuting before one reaches his or her 20's.I'm going to be honest here: Korean entertainment companies look for people (based on looks) who are Korean or of Chinese descent. They want their artists to look Korean or Chinese because that's their main target market, including Japan. But fret not, there are non-Korean/Chinese looking idols and who are not even Korean. An example is Nichkhun of 2PM.There are a lot of people who audition to get a chance to debut and it is hard to get into entertainment companies, especially the Big Three (SM, YG and JYP! ). You have to be the best in what you do and look good enough for them. SME kinda prioritizes looks so you have to look good if you're planning to audition there. The chances of getting into an entertainment company is slim, not only for you but to everyone else. It's stiff competition, you are fighting for a spot with thousands of others. And after you get accepted, you will be a trainee and being a trainee is hard. Endless training for singing, dancing, acting, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, even English, social media interaction, etc. And sometimes you don't even get to debut. Getting into the company doesn't ensure you that you will debut. And again, you have to be the best. You have to catch their eye and attention to debut. So work very hard if ever and work hard you will for a long time because trainee years can rage from 6 months to even 7 years! Depends on the entertainment companies. That's the reality but it never hurts to try because hey, you never know. Best wishes!! ...Show more
