German Thal: You can list teachers at the college although this may be too long ago. Consider these other possible references:- individuals you have dealt with through your children (school, extracurricular activities)- colleagues of your husband- church/community organizationsFor a useful and free guide on chosing and using the right job references you can go to the website below. Rufus Plough: You can ask any notable person. For example if you are religious and attend church often you could ask your vicar. You could ask your college for an academic reference. Other than that you could ask any friends you do have.If worst comes to worst get yourself a position in a charity shop for a week and then ask for a reference at the end of that.Good luck....Show more
Deangelo Marchak: Have you done any volunteer work? Have you helped with field trips and different things at your child's school? You could use those as references. You are going! to have to get really creative given your situation. Remember, once you have thought of at least three people, ask them BEFORE you list them if it's ok to use them as a reference.
Malcom Bourek: Don't list your current employer as a reference if you haven't informed them. Most applications will ask you if it is ok to contact current employer. As for the references, I would suggest sending 3 personal, and 3 business. This will cover all of your bases, and show that you can follow directions!!
