Coleman Ocegueda: i think it was clear when i said FANCY about the rightness of the places...all the stuff you guys mentioned are just so HOMELY AND SERVED IN RESTAURANTS! cant believe it!
Cody Petrulis: Let's see...Cobb Salad, Oysters Rockefeller, Indian pudding, Corn on the Cob, Roast Turkey with Corn Bread Stuffing, Cranberry Sauce, ...I feel sorry for you that you don't like BBQ.
Bernadette Roel: LOL@ you for going to the wrong place in New Orleans. Don't go to Popeyes next time buddy.
Eleni Mccier: I'd love to know where you went....I hate that you managed upon the only sucky places here!First off, New Orleans has some world class food that does not taste like cardboard, fries are not a big New Orleans fare nor is fried chicken...your looking for the wrong types of food in the right places.....lolNew Orleans has cajun food - try it - gumbo, jumbalaya, etouffee, etc. a lot of cajun food has it's back ground in french cooking, but it is not the same.! ... N.O. is also world famous for its creole food....resembles cajun but has more of a spanish flareBut New Orleans is just one place for great food...did you try our famous bbq...I know you can't get that in Europe or anywhere else (Australia is probably closest). A good old smoked brisket, ribs, pork shoulder. Pizza is actually an American dish, did you try Chicago style pizza when you were here? It is not like the stuff you get from Dominos.... How about Texas chili - there is nothing cardboard tasting about Texas chili! There is traditional southern cooking in all the south, focus for a moment on Virginia and that area - ham and red-eye gravy - I know that is American....mmmmm, heck what about plain old sausage gravy smothered biscuits, there is so much flavor there! Go up north for a wonderful Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich or to Maine for a lobster roll, head inland to Nebraska and eat one of the juiciest steaks your fork has ever touched. And yes I know steaks a! re everywhere, but well you haven't tried a real good one unle! ss you have tried it there! I am sure I am missing some things, but really don't comment on the sucky fare you had here unless you had the right stuff at the right places. It isn't just junk food we are famous for. Oh and thank god for the ethnic cuisine too, if it wasn't for the millions of ppl trying their hardest to get to American in the first place we wouldn't have so many choices at our hands!...Show more
Jesse Pirieda: America is melting pot and there are people from all over the world. It is not like in other countries where it is more homogeneous . Also there is not that much you can call American. Even soul food and Cajun food are just borrowed and doctored up from Africa. There are a few things that are American but for the most part it is all bored from other cultures
