Faustino Mellerson: beauty is in the eyes of the person who looks in the mirror...you alone can rightfully judge yourself...
Betsey Copp: We might do all agree that beauty is a very relative term, "depending on the eye of the beholder" and stuffs like that. Personally, I define beauty as that which both inspires art and is a product of it, and, quoting from Steve McCloud, art can be defined as something that which humans do that is not out the need for either survival or reproduction (which are very primal needs). In other words, anything that we do that is practically useless is art. And a product of this art or whatever inspired it is beauty. It may also be possible, that beauty may just be some user illusion concept that may have arised from our own primal urges or our natural inclination to find a higher level of existence. However relative all conclusions and arguements may lead to, my college professor believed that beauty can be measured and that there is defii! nitely something called, an Absolute Beauty, and that somehow, all our ideas of beauty move towards it. Its like somekind of....higher level of spirituality, like Louis Khan's architecture. And this he concludes after lots lots lots lots of reading. Personally, I cannot see how that is yet, but the idea is greatly respectable....Show more
