Arts and Crafts type things... quilts, toile painted furniture, wood carvings of water foul, window or lawn ornaments, costume jewelry...Paintings of the kind you might find in a hotel or restaurant: landscapes, cottages, watercolor florals, animals.Generally, for something to be 'mainstream' it must be understood and enjoyed or appreciated by the masses. So mainstream art is generally just aesthetically pleasing, and not so much something that evokes too much thought.
